What does Macquarie's credit card travel insurance cover?

Your Macquarie Black/Platinum Credit Card travel insurance includes:

  • Overseas Travel Insurance for you, your spouse and any dependent children
  • Interstate Flight Inconvenience Insurance to cover meals or clothing depending on delay
  • Extended Warranty Insurance on your purchases. Limitations and exclusions apply.

Do I have to activate my travel insurance before my trip?

You don’t need to activate your travel insurance cover before your trip. By making an eligible travel purchase using your Macquarie Platinum or Macquarie Black credit card account, and meeting the other eligibility requirements, you’ll be covered subject to the relevant insurance terms and conditions.

Eligible travel purchases

  • For overseas trips – Payment of the full amount of your outbound flight ticket or cruise using your Macquarie credit card account.
  • For domestic trips – Payment of $500 or more on accommodation or payment of the full amount of your outbound flight ticket or cruise using your Macquarie credit card account.

How do I make a travel insurance claim?

You can make a credit card travel insurance claim in one of two ways through the Master Policy, which is underwritten by the insurer Chubb Insurance Australia Limited:

  1. Overseas emergency – Call Chubb Assist on +61 2 8907 5666
  2. Non-emergency – Make a claim online via the Chubb Claim Centre where you’ll need to provide your:
    • policy number:
      • 01PN529935 (Macquarie Black Credit Card)
      • 01PN529928 (Macquarie Platinum Credit Card)
    • email address
    • supporting documents
    • intended payee information.

Your eligibility is set out in the Eligibility for Insurance Table in the Macquarie Black Card Insurance Terms and Conditions and Macquarie Platinum Card Insurance Terms and Conditions.
