Can't add your card via Apple Wallet?

If you're having trouble adding your Macquarie card via Apple Wallet, here are common issues and the steps you can take to resolve them.

  • Your card needs to be activated – Once you receive your new card, you can activate it in moments using the Macquarie Mobile Banking app or Macquarie Online Banking. See Activating your new or replacement card.
  • Your card needs to be verified – For the simplest setup, add your card directly from the Macquarie Mobile Banking app. You'll need the Macquarie app installed to approve the request securely.
  • Your card details may be incorrect – Go back and carefully re-enter your card number, expiry date and the three-digit security code (CVV) to ensure they’re correct.
  • Your device software is out of date – Go to Settings on your device and check for any available software updates. You’ll need the latest version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS to add your card.
  • Your device security settings need attention – For Apple Wallet to work, you must have a passcode set up on your device. You can do this via Settings on your device.
  • You have a poor internet connection – Make sure you have a stable internet connection. If you’re using mobile data, try connecting to a trusted Wi-Fi network instead.
  • There could be an issue with your Apple ID – Try signing out of your Apple ID, restarting your device, and then signing back in before you try to add the card again.

If you’ve tried all these steps and are still unable to add your card, there may be a temporary technical issue. Please wait a few minutes and try again.

If it’s still not working, please contact us via chat so we can look into it for you.

If the merchant asks to verify the card you used, you can show them the last four digits of this digital card number. To find this:

  1. Open the Wallet app on your device
  2. Select the Macquarie card you used for the purchase
  3. Tap the three dots (...) in the top-right corner of the screen
  4. Choose the Card Number option.
